I heard the wind shivering. I heard the air whispering. I heard it all. But I didn't notice it was you.


(When the ringing in my ear stopped, I longed for it again. I longed for the siren to call my name again, and again, and again)


I counted every time you opened your mouth when you talk to me.

One, Two, Three, Four

Are you listening?

Five, Six, Seven,

Look at me.

Eight, Nine


Sing to me. Sing as if the earth crumbles when you stop. Sing to me, as the flame dances the world away.


This time I will listen.

This time I will sing.
